letters.jpgIt is with tremendous pride that we publish for your review a letter written to Mayor Resnick by Ms. Kathy Oliva, in which she expresses gratitude for the fine work done by Wilton Manors police Sgt. Chadwick as he was driving home after a long day’s work serving the citizens of Wilton Manors. The letter and its sincerity speak for themselves but I’m compelled to add these thoughts.

Too often the work that police officers do goes unnoticed or unappreciated. Kind comments, such as those written by Ms. Oliva, go a long way to remind all of us why it is so important that we take care of each other.

Here in Broward County, we occupy a small speck on the planet and do so for only a short period of time. Police officers, by their nature and their profession, work hard every day to “take care of each other” regardless of who you are or from where you come. The incident described by Ms. Oliva in her letter is a great example of “compassion in action.”

Thank you Ms. Oliva for your letter and thank you Sgt. Chadwick for your continued service to all of Broward County, but especially Wilton Manors!
