How is the assessment decided?

The WDID hired a consultant to review all aspects of the District and find the fairest possible way to assess the $100,000 on the 56 properties. It was determined that a percentage of the assessed taxable value was the fairest method. The Methodology Assessment Report can be found here

Where does the WDID Board get the power to assess?

The original authorizing legislation empowered the WDID Board to assess up to $100,000 and Resolution 2024-002 authorizes the assessment for fiscal years 2024 through 2028.

How will the money be spent?

The WDID Board will decide how to spend the funds. A portion will necessarily be allocated for administration of the statutory requirements.
